Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. No student is inducted simply because of a high academic average. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the total student; one who excels in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
National Honor Society members who exemplify these characteristics are eligible in their senior year to be nominated to compete in the National Honor society Scholarship Awards Program, Principal’s Leadership Award, Wendy’s High School Heisman Award, and the Prudential Sprit of Community Awards.
Membership, however, is more than an honor. It incurs a responsibility and an obligation to demonstrate those outstanding qualities that resulted in selection. Individual members have the responsibility to choose an individual service project in line with their particular talents and interests.
