QUALITY OF EDUCATION PARENT SURVEY

2003/2004

Responses to Questions 1-10 to last year’s Quality of Education Survey are included in the 2004-2005 District Report Card provided by the Public Education Department (PED).  Please see the District Report Card on the school district’s website at www.cmsbears.org or request a copy of the report from your student’s principal.

Questions 11-15 were formulated by the Board of Education, and questions 16-20 were generated at each school site.  The percentages listed beside each school reflect the parents who replied “Strongly Agreed” or “Agreed” to the question. 

Questions prepared by the Board and school staff are listed below with the parent responses:

11.      The school curriculum provides students with skills to use technology as a tool for educational process.

Elementary—90%; High School—84%; Middle School—88%

12.      The district creates a learning environment that fosters students’ different learning styles and abilities.

Elementary—84%; High School—82%; Middle School—83%

13.      District personnel are willing to meet with me and assist with my student’s academic and behavior issues.

14.      The school district adequately provides current information on school issues.

18.      The Cloudcroft Elementary School connects school and community in a variety of ways.  Elementary—88%

My Cloudcroft High School student understands the expectations, rewards, and sanctions regarding behavior at school and school functions.  High School—97%

The Middle School offers training in academic, social, and emotional life-long coping skills.  Middle School—76%

19.      The Cloudcroft Elementary School has made an effort to improve school climate with the use of the “Bee-Bearies”.  Elementary—87%

Cloudcroft High School students have adequate opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities (clubs, athletics, etc.).  High School—84%

The Middle School recognizes each student’s individual diversity and encourages development of the recognition and acceptance of those differences.

Middle School—78%

20.      I feel welcomed and encouraged to participate in any or all school activities in Cloudcroft Elementary School.  Elementary—93%

        Cloudcroft High School’s policies and procedures are fairly administered.
