Welcome to the new school year! Special Education is off to a busy start already. We have made many changes this year. One very exciting change is that we have a new staff member Barbara Thoksakis. Barbara lives in Alto and is teaching our Gifted Students and all Middle school students in Special Education. Her areas of expertise are in Gifted Education, Written Language and Math. We are so very excited about having her join our staff this year, Welcome Barbara!
We also will soon begin our meetings for our parents. Once again, they will be immediately preceding Board meetings at 5:00PM so all can stay for the 6:00 Board Meeting.
In September, I will meet with the parents of Gifted Students. Our topic will be options for students with Gifted plans. In October, I will meet with parents of students in Special Education. Our topic will be transition options available for students with special needs.
